Native
the Native Collection
Inspiration:
the California coast
——
The California coast served as our muse, simultaneously spacious and calm, savage and unrelenting. This dichotomy informed Kate’s creative process, which was predominantly water media and printmaking.
The Process
——
For some designs, the creative approach was calm and meditative. For the others, designer Kate Miler worked with intensity, laying down ink or paint, then spraying water to let the unexpected occur.
The resulting designs embody a wabi-sabi quality that can only be achieved by hand.
“Modern yet edgy, Native is a uniquely conceptual take on coastal.”
The Collection
——
Five prints in a total of fourteen colorways are available as fabric for residential applications, and as wallpaper for residential, workplace, hospitality, and store design. The entire collection is printed digitally, eco-friendly, and customizable as to color and scale. Wallpaper designs can also be printed on Type II for commercial and hospitality projects.
