Altered States

Inspiration:
Design as medicine
——

The Altered States collection was designed with one question in mind: What designs can we use to support individual and collective healing? The resulting patterns of designer Kate Miller’s yearlong inquiry feature lush, layered watercolor motifs and earthy colors chosen for their specific energetic properties.

The Process
——

To create Altered States, Kate drew from her training in multicultural shamanism, exploring worlds that are hidden to the naked eye in order to bring forth art that can support and uplift. To create designs with both depth and softness, she leaned predominantly on watercolor and ink in her creative process. Miller selected specific colors for their healing properties, curating color ways that can support mental and emotional balance.

I believe that the potential of design and its ability to create impact goes far beyond what most people realize. Designers have the ability to change peoples lives through changing the spaces they inhabit.

The Collection
——

The wallpaper collection features two dreamy patterns:

Eden takes us on a visually romantic journey reminiscent of a secret garden. Available in both soft and moody hues, Eden brings the artistry of floral motifs to life in the most fresh and modern way.

Inspired by an introspective, meditative journey, Portal is a powerful symphony of color and shape. The dynamic abstract design features a series of squares, colorfully washed in striking tones.
